April Fool's Day

I need to get something off of my chest that's been brewing for about a week. I've debated about posting anything because I don't want to offend or come across as being judgmental.
Saturday is April Fool's Day, and I am not looking forward to it. Normally, it would be just another day, and I wouldn't think much of it. I might try to play a joke on my husband that would most likely not turn out as awesome as I thought it would. Right now, I am dreading it. Why am I dreading it? Because I am almost positive that when I open my Facebook app someone is going to have posted a fake pregnancy test.
Maybe I'm being overly sensitive. Maybe I should just let it go. Maybe I should just avoid checking Facebook.
But I know I'm not the only one.
For those of us that have experienced loss or are experiencing fertility issues, pregnancy is not something that should be joked about. It is not a flippant thing. It should not be taken lightly. It is an extremely precious gift that should be treated with the utmost respect It is hard enough to hear and see other people's real announcements.

No matter how much you want to feel joy for your family and friends as they're welcoming new life, it is extremely difficult. Then there's the guilt. Guilt because you can barely muster the strength to congratulate them. Guilt because you are overwhelmed by jealousy. Guilt because you should have somehow been able to do something to change your circumstances.
This is really beginning to sound like a pity party. That is definitely not my intention. My life is going a lot better than it was a few months ago. There are more good days than bad days. It's getting easier to feel excitement and joy when we hear our loved ones are growing their families. It's getting easier to feel like the future is actually going to happen. It's getting easier to feel hope most of the time. The Lord is good and never leaves us.
All of this was to say, think before you post on Saturday. You never know what someone is going through.

Free Pattern Friday: Kassia Empire Waist Dress (2-4 years)

Happy Friday and Happy Independence Day!

It's been a while since I posted a free pattern. I finally have a day off today to share one with all of you.

Pattern is written in American terms. You can sell items made from this pattern. Please do not recreate pattern or represent as your own.

Flower Crown Animal Hats

I don’t know about you all, but I am ready for spring. I am ready for warm weather, the Easter season, my birthday, my husband’s birthday, and our wedding anniversary. (Okay, maybe I just realized how busy we are going to be in a month or two.)
Spring fever gave me the inspiration to make the animal hats I have been wanted to make since the beginning of January. I’ve seen such cute knitted versions on Pinterest, but I hadn’t come across a crochet pattern for any of them. What do I do when I can’t find a pattern? Come up with one myself.
I hope you all enjoy making them as much as I did.

Flower Crown Unicorn Hat.

Do you ever have an idea that will not leave you alone until you execute it? That’s how I feel about this new hat pattern. I have two orders I should be working on, but I couldn’t focus on either one of them until this hat pattern came to fruition.
After the release of my Flower Crown Animal Hats, I heard the suggestion of releasing a child size hat pattern. So here it is. I am still working on the adult size pattern as well as the idea tomake a more masculine version. Hopefully, I will be able to bring that to you next week.
