Laura B's Baby Shower

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to plan parties. Baby showers are one of my favorite things. We finally got to celebrate Laura B's baby shower!
We had so much fun celebrating Baby Ayden!

I think this is my favorite picture from yesterday.

The food table was brought together by several people. It's so nice to have volunteers to help with things. It made my job a whole lot easier.

Christy from Highly Flavored Cupcakes made some beautiful and delicious cupcakes for the occasion.

We wanted the whole shower to have a handmade and homey feel. Most of the decor will be able to be used in Ayden's nursery which added even more specialness to an already special event.

Molly from Then Molly Went Vegan made three amazing pieces for Ayden's nursery.

The centerpieces were an amalgam of elephants and other baby items.
We didn't want them to be girly so we tried to stay away from flowers and ribbon.

The banners were handmade by Laura and me.
You can see all three beautiful elephants here.

They were also my favorite element of the decor.

The gift table featuring a blanket I made about a month ago.

Even the game table had a nursery element.
This is Ferdinand the Elephant.

I loved how much we incorporated Ayden's name into everything.

We opted for a less traditional guestbook.
We wanted to do something that Ayden could have for a long time.

And to go with the more simple theme, we used animal crackers as a favor.
Who doesn't love them?

We had some fun onesie decorating. I think everyone enjoyed it.

And Ayden has some very special onesies to wear!

And finally, the expectant momma and me.

Thank you to everyone who made this a special day.
Laura, Ken, and Baby Ayden were blessed abundantly.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my should knows it very well. (Psalm 139:13-14)

It's been a while since I posted a free pattern. I finally have a day off today to share one with all of you.

Flower Crown Animal Hats

I don’t know about you all, but I am ready for spring. I am ready for warm weather, the Easter season, my birthday, my husband’s birthday, and our wedding anniversary. (Okay, maybe I just realized how busy we are going to be in a month or two.)
Spring fever gave me the inspiration to make the animal hats I have been wanted to make since the beginning of January. I’ve seen such cute knitted versions on Pinterest, but I hadn’t come across a crochet pattern for any of them. What do I do when I can’t find a pattern? Come up with one myself.
I hope you all enjoy making them as much as I did.

Flower Crown Unicorn Hat.

Do you ever have an idea that will not leave you alone until you execute it? That’s how I feel about this new hat pattern. I have two orders I should be working on, but I couldn’t focus on either one of them until this hat pattern came to fruition.
After the release of my Flower Crown Animal Hats, I heard the suggestion of releasing a child size hat pattern. So here it is. I am still working on the adult size pattern as well as the idea tomake a more masculine version. Hopefully, I will be able to bring that to you next week.
